On our way to Death Valley

Today’s drive end up much longer then planned, I will write up the story tomorrow. Don’t know when we will have internet again so it maybe after we leave Death Valley before it is posted. The short version is we drove up Hwy 247 30 miles to a road closed sign, closed for construction until Monday 4/1/2019.

Some my Navy brothers I spent a year with in DaNang, Vietnam- 1971/72. I took the picture so I’m not in it and I don’t even remember why it was taken but, here it is.
Left Phoenix Monday morning for some desert time in Quartzsite.

Lot of flowers this year.
We will hang around here for a while then maybe go to Death Valley.
Yesterday it was 89, 85 today and weather channel says 82 to 85 for the next week or so.
Last game of the Spring Training.
Saw on the news that Spring Training brings the Valley $688 million with $32 million in tax revenue.

Yes we won the last two games.

This is what the new screen has done to our pictures.
Really enjoyable game.

And we won.
Today we got a new awning and slide topper rollers.
We replaced the awning before it failed. It was starting to some small wear point holes but what I was really concerned about was the small area between the coach and the awning’s metal cover. It was a place where moss would grow on the awning material and the fabric would eventually fail.

Brian and I replaced the slide toppers this winter and on the way down here last month I noticed the rollers were not rolling round.

Here is why, the caps are made of a rather soft metal the once round hole is now an oval. I found replacements on EBay for $140.00 a slide. The awning folks would replace them for $250.00 a slide, I decided it was worth the $100.00 each to have it done. It even seemed like a better deal when one of the spring loaded end caps got away from one of the installers and just nicked a finger.
Miss you Hank,
To start with, Jack has grown since he got this bubble making lawn mower from
Aunt Tine for his birthday in July.

Today’s baseball was Mariners future players game. Some triple A players but mostly double A and below. Tickets were a dollar and a Spring Season Ticket holder they were free.

It was sunny and warm.
