Red Bluff, CA – Rest Stop Sunday November 11, 2018

This morning we could see a little smoke in the air. When we got out of the high desert it was really smoky and in Stockton visibility was a mile. From Sacramento north the smoke seemed to holding at a layer above 1000 feet. Crystal clean at ground level.

We stopped at the Olive Pit in Corning and decided to stay here where it is going to get down to 40 degrees rather then 22 degrees at Weed.

We were on the road at 5:30 a.m. this morning and got here at 4:15 p.m. had some pretty good cross winds for a three hours this afternoon.

The drive:

Don’t know what the new yellow line is for, when we get to the big house and I don’t have to watch data usage I’ll spend some time and figure it out.

Campsite:

Boron, CA – Rest Stop – Saturday November 10, 2018

We have stayed at this Rest Stop several times going both north and south.

California is having another terrible time with fires.

This is the 4:00 pm sun though the smoke from the LA fires. As the sun got lower it got redder.

Our original plan was for a long day’s drive (478) north to Corning, CA and then to Medford, OR. With the fire east of Chico burning the whole town of Paradise 7000 homes we will drive to Weed tomorrow 600 miles. The goal is to be on the road by 5:30 a.m.

Quartzsite, AZ – Thursday November 8, 2018

Back to Quartzsite for a couple of nights.

The triangle is where we are today the dot just below it is where we were the first of the week.

I want to wash and wax the drive’s side of the coach before we head north. Where the coach sits in the backyard it is difficult to wax this side.

Lost Dutchman SP / Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta – Wednesday November 7, 2018

I spent some time working on a couple of pictures from the Fiesta. When we are traveling data usage is always a challenge and today is the first day of our cellphone billing cycle.

Drove from Quartzsite to Phoenix area today, 170 miles. Here so we can go to dinner with the Gails tomorrow.

In site 84 for two nights.

Back to Quartzsite for a few days, highs 80-83 lows 56-60.

We like it here this time of year. In December and January people will be parked all over this area with only a couple of feet between coaches. There will be a lot of generators running, we enjoy the quiet.

Oatman, AZ – Monday October 29, 2018

Drove up to Oatman, AZ to say we have been there. Oatman is an old mining town who’s current claim to fame is the burros which come into town everyday so the tourists can feed them.
