My Life and Travels
Today’s drive and camp site at Jacob Lake CG, this is at the north entrance of Grand Canyon.
Today’s drive to this state park, we have spent many nights here, site 13.
Driving across Nevada on Hwy 50.
First leg of outing complete, Richard & Vickie’s for several days.
Another travel day, 201 miles.
We are at a rest stop 2 miles south of Orovanda, NV. The area is not marked with parking spots so I pulled up along the outside corner so we can put the bedroom slide out to night. It is hot and we are running the air conditioners. The rear coach storage bay is 105.
It is smokey here as is most of Oregon, Idaho, Montana and norther California.
Another travel day.
We spent 3 hours this afternoon at Hilgard State Park on I-84 coming out of the Blue Mountains. Only had a 5 hour drive so we spent some time up in the mountains where it was cooler then the 98 degrees it was going to be here in Ontario. We stayed in the day use area which has a circular turn around at the far end of the park. The challenge with the turn around is it had a tree leaning out high over the road which I thought might hit the coach. I decided it was better to unhook the pick-up than chance damaging the coach. Second time I have had to unhook the tow to turn around. The “Motorhome 100000 M” is from a previous trip through, currently at 134,000 miles.
Our view tonight.
After we pulled into the rest stop I took Marley out for a pee and then reached into the refrigerator for a Bud Light.
I found out that Pepsi and Bud Light cans are almost the same color.
We are on the first day of our Fall trip.
We will not be doing much exploring. Our first stop is at Richard and Vickie’s for a couple of days, then on to San Juan River in northern New Mexico flyfishing and the first two weeks of October at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. These are all things we have done in the past and looking forward to doing them again.
Today’s travels, 270 miles from the big house to Hermiston with an hour stop at the Garcia’s
The haze you see is from the Schnieder Creek Fire which is just south of Cliffdell, Wa and just east of Chinook Pass. We were originally scheduled to be at Salmon Cove Group Camp Ground for week and than move to New Mexico. All the camp grounds in this area have been closed since mid August with this 83,000 acre fire. Looking forward to going to this campground next year.
Last week I commented about the no snow weather forecast, that hasn’t worked out so well.
The river is up from 1.89 feet to 2.74 feet and dirty. It will clear and fishing well improve.
Happy Birthday Jean if you are counting she is 70 today.
That is 1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111 years. Thanks for the last 47.
No birthday cake.
Birthday Cake.
Bryn even got her mother to make Grandma a birthday CAKE.
Today’s drive was 396 miles.
We are in site 18 this time.
Our view.
Marley trying really hard to keep his eyes open, he lost the battle.
