Today we left Zion, the road going East was only open from 7:00 to 9:00. We went through at 7:15. Drove 107 miles to Kodachrome State Park. We’ll be here for two nights.
Picture of the day is Hank on lizard watch.
Looks to be about 91 today.
OK, now I remember what I liked about Kodachrome BASIN State Park. It was 92 at 6:25 sundown. YES, we are at the upper end of large basin and sunset was 6:25. It’s 9:10 right now and still light out, but the sun went down at 6:25 at our camp site. Life is good!!!!

Sunday at Zion and more than likely stay in camp all day. It’s going to get to 104 today. At 11:45 it is 90. The weather channel says 89. Jean is laying in the sun and I’m hiding in shade of the MH.

It’s Friday and we have been gone for a week. As you all know this vacation thing is much better than billed.
Today was the trip with Zion Field Institute. It’s an organization that supports the national parks in this area, they have a 3 million dollar budget and last year gave Zion 800,000 dollars. The 4 – 5 hour hike has a limit of eleven people. This outing missed the limit by 10. So l got a personal guided tour. We went to two places I would never been able to have gone by myself. Michael may also do the river trip in September. Great day with amazing views.

Wednesday at Zion Natl Park. Today’s entry will have two pictures, one from the East Rim trail and the other is a mystery picture. If you think you know what the mystery picture is you can add your guess to the comments. I left home with the comments set as moderated and l’ve had no luck getting that changed. You’ll have wait for me to approve comments.
Zion just got a little better, 3g works great.
