My Life and Travels
Went to Crazy Horse today. They having an interesting museum with lots of things to see.
We were here in 2001 and they have moved some rock.
We had another big lightning and thunder storm last night.
The weather forecast was for thunderstorms most of the day, however the morning started out pretty good so we headed out to Mt Rushmore. The weather held and it was a beautiful day all day.
Here are some of the required pictures:
These are thumbnails of the full picture.
Went into Rapid City to see the new Star Wars movie “Solo”. It was pretty good, not the stand up and cheer kind of movie some of the Star Wars movies have been.
Walked around downtown and took pictures of all the presidential statues the city has put downtown. Here is George Washington:
I took three pictures of each statue; the plaque, a full frontal and a head.
When we get back to more WiFi data I will up load all 43 presidents. Obama’s statue isn’t done and they will not start 45 until he has left office.
Here is a city website with more information.
Took a drive into the north end of Custer State Park today with a drive by of Mt Rushmore.

Couple of road pictures Jean took. It was a nice sunny and warm day.
Today’s drive

We are at Custer State Park, Game Lodge Campground site 16E.

The challenge with this site is it’s on a HILL. We have had this coach since 2005 and this is the first time I needed wheel blocks to get it level. The LevelMate-Pro said the rear was 4.25 inches low on the passenger side. The front driver’s side is 5.5 inches and the front passenger’s side is 10.0 inches low. We went into the town of Custer and got six 2 X 4’s and a pound of 2 1/2 inch screws. I was sure glad I had a $16.99 Harbor Freight cordless drill and set of drill bits. Took some time and I got the coach within 0.25 inches of level. We are here for 11 days so it was worth the time and efforts. I was tired when I was done. I was also glad I had my hiking bow saw.

Tied some flys and thunderstorm.
Starting this on IPad and hopefully finish on laptop.

Jean is really nice about my mess, I do need to clean up each time I get done tying a few flies.
Started this post on my Ipad and saved it as a DRAFT and the WordPress app I am using on my Ipad actually saved to draft to the server and not just locally on the Ipad. This is good.
We had thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Wednesday I spent some time taking pictures.
We got a lot of ran and most of the people in tents had to leave. Water was standing everywhere even on the flat ground.
The plan for the afternoon and evening was to tie some flys.

The afternoon worked out good however I got sidetracked during the evening.

We had a few thunderstorms move through the area, our location is Interior,SD mostly the center of these maps. Got a lot of rain and some hail I put in the large slide, most of the tent people didn’t fair as well. Jean went to bed at eleven and I set up most of the night enjoying the show. The lightning had to be over a thousand plus, for long periods of time the whole sky was lit up. The storms started at around 8:00 and lasted until 1:00 or 2:00.
Spent time driving around the park taking pictures.
We visited an original land claim just outside the park.
We stopped at Devil’s Tower and I took the time to walk around the tower. We were here in 2001.
On the way east we stopped at the Little Bighorn for several hours.
