Today was the longest day of this trip 464 Miles which got us to the rest stop in Boron, Ca.
Their aren’t many good places to stop in southern Cal but this rest stop gets us into the high desert and has great places to part.
We got one of the island sites so we could have the bedroom slideout out.

Tomorrow we should be in the quiet desert of Quartzsite.
Forget to put the travel maps in:

The last one shows where we set for 30 minutes waiting for the island spot to open up. When not moving the InReach transmitter goes into an every 4 hour mode rather than every 10 minutes, moving 30 feet does not get it back into the 10 mode. I turned it off be it transmitted again.
I looked on the internet for truck / RV repair places and didn’t come up with any place that really stood out. I did find that both Orland and Corning have Les Schwab stores. This morning we drove to the Les Schwab in Corning to have the brakes look at.
Short travels today.
Campsite.

Heading towards Tanya, Mike and Jack’s for a week. Celebrating Tanya’s and Jack’s birthdays. Jack’s first birthday and Tanya’s more than first birthday.
This is a I-90 rest spot and Forest Service Campground, at mile post 60.
We are in site A7, a nice large pull-through, great since I will not have to unhook the pickup.
On Friday September 15, 2000 I set on this picnic table at 10:30 at night and had my first beer with my daughter.
Drove across Washington today, left the big house at 10:00 am.
Big house and little house.
Tonight’s camp.
And I got to go in the store after dinner and Hank’s walk.
It is a big store.

Quick overnight on our way to the big house.
Left the big house at 10:30 and got to a rest stop by Cottage Grove at 5:30. Most of the rest stops south of here are small and will fill up fast after dark.
