First full day of vacation was a driving day. Thursday left home at 6:00 pm and drove till 11:00 pm. Friday we hit the road at 5:30 am and got to Richard’s at 7:00 pm. Sunday morning we are going to the Reno balloon races. Yes vacation is Great.

Tomorrow September 9, 2010 we start our fall birthday vacation. This is my 60th birthday present to myself, 2 count them 2 – two week vacations. We took 2 weeks in May June and now two weeks in September. I get to work until about 5:00 pm tomorrow. I have a meeting that starts at 4:00 p.m.. We should hit the road at 5:45 or 6:00 heading south to Carson City to spend the weekend with my brother.
Well that’s all you need to know as of right now. I’ll update you as we move south.

I borrowed Tanya s old laptop to take on vacation. My goal is to download pictures from my cameras and use this computer to update this blog.
By the way I didn t miss the apostrophes in Tanya s and didn t, the apostrophe key does not work. I ll let you know if I find any more.
7:00 am just got cell & 3g back two days of traveling to get home.
Ended the day in rest stop just before Ontario, OR. Don’t have any 3g and Oregon wants $2.00 for 20 minutes WIFI.
Drove 674 miles from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm, the sun was just going down. We made much better time this year than two years ago. We got here at 10:45 last time. I’ll add this on Saturday.
6/12 3g rest stop west of Baker City 8:30 am.
It was 77 degrees at 7:00 am this morning, at 12:30 it’s 86. Today is our last day of vacation at 6:00 am tomorrow we’ll head north for 1223 miles and 28 hours of travel. Windy today,good 25-30 MPH the straps I made to manage the slide toppers are working great. Went over to the Goblins this morning for 2 hours. Had cell &internet for about a minute, will post these on the way home.
Starting this and will send it if we get internet today.
5:00 pm at Goblin and no connection today. Picture is MH at Goblin. It’s 93 – 16% humidity, good 25-30 MPH wind.
I have a observation of the day: 94 degrees is a lot better after 3/4’s of a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, Thanks Gary & Kim.
Went back to see if I could put text between the pictures I posted with my Droid.
Hank took Harry for his 7:00 am hike. We got to go on trail hike, at Zion we could only go on one paved path. It’s 9:00 am 75 degrees and Hank is taking a nap.

Wednesday at Zion Natl Park. Today’s entry will have two pictures, one from the East Rim trail and the other is a mystery picture. If you think you know what the mystery picture is you can add your guess to the comments. I left home with the comments set as moderated and l’ve had no luck getting that changed. You’ll have wait for me to approve comments.
I caught the 5:45 a.m. bus this morning and hiked up to the East Rim trail 4.5 miles up and 4.5 miles back down – a long ways for me. It got to 90 today and should reach 100+ this weekend.
Left Richard’s at 6:00 a.m. and got to Minersville, Utah at 6:30 p.m. – 581 miles. It’s sunny warm with a few high clouds. The campground has 18 sites and there is only one other trailer here.
We are listening to the Mariner’s baseball game on XM radio thanks to. Brian and Christine.
We are spending a nice sunny day at Richard’s. Late this morning we went to Costco and on Vickie and Richard’s recommendation I got a case of Carolan’s Irish cream. The missing one in the picture is already being put to work.. This was all Christine’s idea.
