Leveling Blocks and Slideout Gauge – 2005

One of the challenges in parking a motorhome with slides is allowing for room to get the slides out.  Some of the objects around the motorhome can not be moved after you’re parked.  Things like utility power connections.   This pole is the one I use to get my leveling blocks under the motorhome and aligned with the hydraulic jack pads. The black mark toward the left end of the pole is the clearance the living room and bedroom slideouts will need to get fully extended.  One item two purposes.

The blocks are a combination of 2 X 12 and plywood.  The center piece of 2 X 12 was cut into a square and then a piece of 1/2 inch plywood was glued and screwed to both sides. The 2 X 12 give the block some height and the plywood keeps the 2 X 12 from splitting when under the jack base.  Without the plywood the inner 2 X 12 would split anytime you are on soft ground.

The hook on the end of the placement pole hooks into an eyelet on the block allowing you to slide the block under the hydraulic jack pad without having to get down on your knees and under the motorhome.

Here is the storage rack I made for the four leveling pads.
